Sheila Caldwell, heart attack survivor, women's heart health advocate and founder of The Heart2Heart Foundation.

The Heart2Heart Foundation, Inc.,  was established in November 2012 and launched in January 2013.  We are an all-volunteer organization consisting of health care professionals and lay people committed raising awareness about the number one killer of women and men.  Locally, through our strategic partnership with heath care providers like Piedmont Medical Center and Carolina Cardiology, we help adults about Advance Screenings like 12-lead EKG and Coronary Calcium Scoring.

In 2014, Heart2Heart worked with the Office of SC Governor Nikki Haley and SC DHEC to create the Statewide Screening Day. Governor Haley declared the third Thursday of February (Heart Month) so be Statewide Screening Day across South Carolina. Heart2Heart partners with healthcare providers across the state to provide free basic heart health screenings and educational materials to adult women and men.

In 2015, the Foundation partnered with two national projects: Katie Couric's FED UP Documentary Campaign and with the Irish Heart Disease Awareness and Oxford Films to promote "The Widowmaker" Documentary.  Both projects have become part of our organization's education about added sugar in our foods and about early detection of heart disease through coronary calcium scoring.  Heart2Heart is now actively involved in educating the community about the benefits of calcium scoring in the fight against heart disease!

The Heart2Heart Foundation has a strong commitment to raising awareness about the number one killer of women, and men, in America - heart disease and believes strongly in educating all age groups about ways to control or prevent the risk factors that lead to heart disease.  We also know that to make permanent changes in our community, we need to educate our children as well!

All funds raised stays local to help provide educational materials and clincial resources to local women!   In addition to educational materials, community events, and workplace programs, Heart2Heart has partnered with health care partners like Piedmont Medical Center to help provide Heart Health Risk Assessment Screenings to women.  Scholarships are available to at-risk women through the generous donations to the foundation.

The mission of The Heart2Heart Foundation is to inspire and enable women and their loved ones to take action that prevents heart attack, stroke, and premature death.

Awareness and education are, quite literally, at the heart of all we do.  It isn't enough to tell women what we need to do, we want to help them do it!   Once you are aware that heart disease is your biggest health threat, then what?  It's vital that you know what risk factors, if any, you may have for developing heart disease.  Through our strategic partnership with Piedmont Medical Center and the generorsity of our donors, we are able to provide women heart health screenings and risk assessments at no charge!   All of the funds raised locally are utilized to help LOCAL women receive the educational and screening information they need to continue the dialogue with their doctors!

Are you ready to take the next step toward heart health?
