A Fun Way to Get Ready for the New School Season
A special note from The Heart2Heart Foundation
We never imagined when we launched the Back2School Block Party in York County back in 2016 that it would grow as it has. We have met hundreds of families over the years, distributed thousands of book bags with school supplies and helped provide free health screenings for adults and youth alike.
Keeping health and wellness as the foundation of our annual event has been a commitment from day one. We have been blessed to have so many community partners that share this same mission. In addition to helping families get ready for the new school year, one of our goals through the Back2School Block Party is to connect parents and guardians with the agencies and resources who can help them with the challenges they may have. It's one thing to give advice about what parents and students should do for a healthy and productive school year, but we felt like it was also our responsibility to make sure they know about the incredible organizations who are dedicated to this purpose!
That is one reason we are so excited about partnering with the Wellness and Community Health Institute at Clinton College. It is encouraging to meet others in the community who embrace our passion for better health and they will be such a wonderful addition to our planning team. We really appreciate them stepping in to host the Back2School Block Party on their campus!
While some of our signature programs span the Charlotte metro and, in fact, across the United States, we committed from the beginning to hosting one large event for families in our home community each year. Our Back2School Block Party not only helps give students a good start to the new school year but also gives us the opportunity to share our message of prevention and hope: HEART HEALTH BEGINS IN CHILDHOOD!
If your child or grandchild attends school in York County, we encourage you to join us. Please note that any book bags not claimed at the event in August will be distributed to families in need through select partnering agencies.
On behalf of our planning team, our board and our volunteers, we look forward to seeing you all this year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
From the heart,
2023 Back2School Block Party Team
